The short version: GoNakedNZ is a free guide to naturism in Aotearoa. You must be 18 or over to use it. Our content is general information only, so check conditions and the law for yourself, and treat everyone with respect. By using this site, you agree to these terms.
1. Accepting these terms
These terms apply to everyone who visits or uses GoNakedNZ.com (the "site"). By using the site, including by selecting "Accept & enter" on our welcome screen, you agree to these terms, our Privacy Policy and our Legal Information & Disclaimer. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
2. Who can use this site
- You must be 18 years or older.
- The site contains images and discussion of non-sexual nudity. By using it, you confirm you're comfortable viewing that content and that doing so is lawful where you are.
- Naturism as described on this site is non-sexual. The site is not intended for, and must not be used for, sexual purposes.
3. About our content
Everything on this site, including our history, benefits, FAQ, places guide and legal information, is provided as general information only. It is not legal, medical or professional advice.
- We work to keep information accurate and up to date, but we don't guarantee that it is complete, current or correct.
- Health information (for example about sunlight and vitamin D) is general in nature. Talk to a qualified health professional about your own circumstances.
- Information about the law is a guide only. See our Legal Information & Disclaimer.
4. Places we list
Our places guide lists locations where clothing-optional recreation has traditionally taken place. Many are compiled from other organisations' published listings, which we credit.
- A listing is not a statement that nudity is permitted, authorised or officially recognised at that place.
- Access, tracks, tides, ownership, local rules and community attitudes change. Always check conditions, signage and local rules before you go.
- Outdoor activities carry risks, including surf, tides, cliffs, rivers, heat and sunburn. You are responsible for your own safety and the safety of anyone with you.
- Respect private property, wāhi tapu, wildlife and conservation rules, and leave no trace.
5. Your conduct
When using this site, and when visiting any place it lists, you agree to:
- behave respectfully and lawfully, and never engage in sexual or lewd behaviour in public;
- never photograph or film other people without their clear consent;
- keep a respectful distance from people who are clothed, and cover up when appropriate;
- not use the site to harass, exploit or harm anyone; and
- not misuse the site, for example by trying to disrupt it, gain unauthorised access, or scrape it in bulk.
6. Your contributions
You can share photos on our Share page, and suggest places and events. If you send us content of any kind:
- you confirm it is yours to share, is accurate to the best of your knowledge, and is lawful;
- you must not include images or identifying details of other people without their consent, and never images of anyone under 18;
- you give us a free, non-exclusive licence to use, edit and publish it on the site and in our related channels; and
- we may edit, decline or remove any contribution at our discretion.
For photos, you also confirm that you are the person shown, or that every person who can be seen has agreed to the photo being shared here; that everyone shown is 18 or over; that the photo is non-sexual; and that you took it or have the photographer's permission. We publish photos only on this website, never in other channels, unless you give us separate permission. Anyone shown in a photo can ask us to remove it at any time, and we will.
7. Our content and copyright
Unless otherwise stated, the text, design, graphics and images on this site belong to GoNakedNZ or are used with permission. You're welcome to link to our pages and to share them for personal, non-commercial purposes. Please don't copy or republish substantial parts of the site without our permission. Content quoted from other organisations remains theirs and is credited.
8. Links and affiliate links
- We link to other websites, such as naturist organisations, government agencies and booksellers. We're not responsible for their content, accuracy or privacy practices.
- Some links are affiliate links, including links to Amazon. If you buy through them, we may receive a small commission at no extra cost to you. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. This helps support the site and doesn't affect what we recommend.
- Any purchase you make is between you and that seller, under their terms.
9. Limitation of liability
The site is provided free of charge, "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- we make no warranties about the site or its content;
- we are not liable for any loss, damage, injury, fine, prosecution or other consequence arising from your use of the site, from relying on its content, or from visiting any place it lists; and
- you use the site and act on its content at your own risk.
Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have that cannot be excluded under New Zealand law.
10. Privacy and cookies
We collect as little information as possible. Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect, including the cookie we use to remember that you've accepted these terms, and how we handle it.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top shows when they last changed. If we make significant changes, we may ask you to accept the terms again. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand, and the courts of New Zealand have jurisdiction over any dispute about them.
